The only shame about Claire Bolingbroke running her own classes is that now it’s only her clients in Newcastle who see her smiling face every day.
A true daughter of Water Babies, she began life with us as an instructor, having brought her daughter Lily to classes in Leeds. So much did she love it that she switched from being a meek mannered clerk of the courts to a vibrant host of high energy classes. (Although, after all those years of whispering at work, her training did include shouting lesson plans over a busy main road to initially help pump up the volume!)
In September 2005 Claire returned to her roots to set up Water Babies in Newcastle. Luckily for her, already waiting in the wings was a budding instructor. As with a surprising amount of clients, the idea of travelling an hour and a half for a half hour lesson meant nothing to Debby Watt. So it was little surprise when she jumped at the chance of joining Claire (although, even more exciting, she's now set up her own classes in Tees Valley too).
Claire became a very happy bunny earlier this year when the very lovely Angela Turner came to help with her admin and she was joined by smiley instructors Teresa Nicholson, Sally Wilson, Pamela Mallen and Lynn Box in the pool.
