Do think about getting your baby their own wet suit at the start of the course.  Whilst they look very cute and are very well made, they’re also fantastic in maintaining your baby’s temperature and comfort in the water when practicing in your local pool or when you’re proudly showing off their swimming skills on holiday. Also having your own will mean you never have to put your child in a wet wetsuit at the beginning of the lesson. (There’s absolutely no problem with doing so, but you can sometimes feel it’s a little bit mean!)

Should your baby suffer from eczema then it's still fine to bring them swimming. You should smooth a barrier cream over the affected parts and then, because the cream might make your baby slippery and therefore tricky to hold, pop them in an eczema suit. As always, do check with your health practioner if you have any worries concerning their skin.
